AI : Friend or Foe?

 I am gen X, so I am old hehe, and I am not a tech or sociology export, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I might be wrong about this, but this is my blog so I can write my opinions and who wants to read it is (literally) free to read it.

From my perspective, the best concept of AI use would be to do jobs people can not do, or jobs that carry high risk of death or injuries and could be better maintained by machines. That would include also jobs that are boring, repetetive, in bad conditions, in toxis or dangerous environment, or jobs that require too much precision that human can achieve.

And instead, what does AI do now? Literally STEALS artwork from people online and uses it so that someone who does not want to pay for art, illustration, poster, essay, even music or music video etc can use other people's life work stollen by AI and get it for themselves! Isn't that nice! And it gets better! Not only art, poetry, essays, novels, stories, even comics and other personal artistic work gets stollen and used by AI but now even psychological advice and various other advices and suggestions you cat get from AI. All which are not jobs we didn't want to do. All which are not jobs that in any way are dangerous, toxic, risky, hard or boring and we NEVER wanted to give them to machines and AI!

So instead of AI working on something that's not proper for humans or animals, too dangerous, heavy, inhumane etc... AI actually does fucking ART and writing and psychology instead of people! What's next, AI dogs and cats because the real one sometimes poop on carpet and we need to feed them and take them to vet? While people and animals still die or get injured on hard jobs! Well done, humanity!

So, I might be overly pesimistic here, but as I can see, it's not without reasons. Instead of making our lives easier AI is stealing our jobs, stealing our personal information (for rich people to use), replacing people on jobs that are in no way dangerous or hazard for anyone, maing unemployment global problem again! And do you really think taking other people's art, even if it's hundreds of years old, and using it to "create" something "new", using people's designs, style, whole life long learing and experience to create quick illustrations and essays and even novels is not stealing? You think that's quality? I won't even go into super-dark areas of using AI as "friends" or "partners" or worse, because that's some shit I don't want to even touch. But, you know what I mean.

So, while you people use AI to "create art", and use ChatGPT to ask personal questions and for advices, or use it to write essays for school, and I even see crap about making money by writing novel by AI, and while you talk to your "AI friend", stop and let yourself think, really hard, what are you even doing. Because next in line, that AI is going to replace, as a worker, as an artist, as a friend or partner, could be you. Think about it, think hard.
