I am invisible

I am invisible, but not in a sense people may think when someone says this phrase. When someone says they are invisible, they usually mean visually unremarkable, someone that blends in with a crowd that can be easily forgotten. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, if you ask me. While with aging (and I am approaching 54 this year), yes, sure I am becoming visually more and more "unremarkable" with each year, thanks to our social culture that for women only quality is her youth and looks (because we are not humans, see my other article about that topic), I think I am not quite there yet. I am still pretty recognizable, and if I want (but I usually don't) I can stand out in the crowd. But that's not what I mean by invisible. I am invisible as complete person, as personality with all the things I can do and I can offer. And I am pretty sure I am not the only one who feels like that. Unless you are rich, famous, ultra media-gorgeous, so talented that it's unique in t...

Some fun youtube channels to check

In no particular order:  GregBroDudeMan - Man watches videos and reacts. Plain and simple. Very genuine, very non-controversial, sweet and authentic. People love this Greg Bro dude man, because he appears to be genuinely non-problematic person which is rare on internet. Very cute, wholesome channel with reactions. Zaffy - Zaffy is masked man who fights crimes and bad movies and series. He is a pitch-black comedy character who sometimes get into really dark topics and does it quite well. He also makes a lot of weird but strangely authentic and smart theories about popular movies and tv series. Morgin DuPon t - absolute sweetie. I like her, smart, funny, down to Earth, but she sometimes seems very sad. On the bad side, she posts rarely and often deletes her videos. But I am keeping an eye on her. Luxeria - absolute riot! If you like brilliant and funny commentary videos, mostly on reality tv shows, this is a channel for you. Luxeria is funny and smart and very down to Earth. Her comm...

Some of the best series I've ever watched

In no particular order: Grace and Frankie     Most Hollywood movies and series, and Hollywood in general, just hates older people, especially old people. They present them as monsters, ugly, something to be scared of or disgusted by etc. They push them in the back as much as they can. This is a gem. Gorgeous Jane Fonda and cute and funny Lilly Tomlin are great comedy team that brings comedy to the top. Followed by other equally great actors, some of them terribly underrated (still), this show was sadly cancelled on cliffhanger, which is terrible injustice.      I love how it puts people over 70 in main roles and focuses on their lives and needs, their problems and comic as well as tragic moments. It's a great comedy with valuable real moments from life, and it doesn't back up topics that may be hard and still manages to deal with them with comedy and grace. Pity it was cancelled. But perfect from start to end. Arcane     Masterpiece of digital art. Ver...

Why use of AI should be very restricted (especially generative AI)

Artificial Intelligence or AI was something we all imagined will make our lives easier. It should've been made to help sick people move and do things they can not do. It was supposed to do jobs humans simply can not do, or are too dangerous, or even maybe to do mundane everyday tasks like cleaning or cooking. Instead of that, we have generative AI which can make you photos or videos of your crush (who doesn't have any ide you even exist) naked and you can do other literal crimes using AI. You can write pretty lousy novels and hope some people will buy it and you will get money by writing few sentences and making AI do the rest. Or you can use them not to do anything and just create fake people, so called AI influencers to make you money on Instagram or other social media. Or you can "make" illustration by typing few descriptive sentences and use them to get money or to promote things for free, and call yourself "an artist" (which you are not, sorry). Or you ...

How media (even social media) manipulates us by using fear

The best way news, especially online news, get our attention was always by using fear. Since Internet became a thing, it is even more prevalent. Even weather forecasts are made to set fear into people, just to click on it. Not to just check the weather, but to click on article and read it. Articles with titles like "This winter will be freezing cold! Are we heading towards another Ice age?", "August will be HELL! Prepare for fire hot temperatures, roads will melt!", "Prepare for electric storms that could blow away your home and kill you!", etc. Sadly, I am not even exaggerating, I literally saw such titles. If that's just the weather forecast, imagine other titles. about more serious topic, like politics or economy. Everything is a disaster, everyone will starve, the big war is coming and everyone will die, we will lose water soon, or food, or electricity, we will be killed in one way or another, new diseases, famine, climate changes (which are the re...

How most videos from anti-age doctors and plastic surgeons look like: Rant

"Look at the photo of this young woman next to photo of old woman" - shows photo of young girl of maybe 19-25 with model-like features, so not really someone you can spot on the streets. Sometimes, lately more often, it's AI generated image or illustration because such perfect face (in eyes of society beauty standards only, of course) does not exist. But a lot of times it's a photo of young model. Next to that photo is a photo of usually beautiful middle aged woman, or, as a more contrast, photo of very old woman (it's NEVER a photo of men, because they don't age at all, right?), with wrinkles, saggy skin and everything today considered "yuck" or unwanted. It doesn't matter if the photo is of beautiful middle-aged woman or very old woman over 80, statement is usually the same: "look at the photo of youth on the left, it's upside down triangle shaped, it has V shaped jaw, big eyes with outer corners higher than inner, lifted full mouth an...

Why I like Spain

This Summer I visited Italy, Sicily to be precise, and Italy is absolutely gorgeous country you need to see! It's lovely all around and everything is art, even food. No wonder I fell in love with Italy, and I would go again if I have a chance. Spain is different but I still loved it. I've been only to Majorca, so I can't say I've seen Spain, really, that would be huge overstatement. What I didn't like: Airport and ways to travel around Airport is huge and it's a total mess! When we landed there, they didn't let us out of plane for quite some time, maybe 30 minutes, then let us outside on runway and kept us there, in dark for maybe an hour, until bus finally picked us up and get us to baggage claim. It was a nightmare of being tired and waiting long, long lines, and waiting for bus and waiting to let you out of plane. I checked and Magaluf, where I was staying is around 22km from airport and Palma so since it was night and very late, I was tired and I though ...

Why self-called "Alpha males" red pill movement men are wrong

Unfortunately, even for me, totally normal woman, Youtube sometimes "recommends" videos from people who call themselves "Alpha males" or red pill movement men. I do not want to watch them but I've seen videos who criticize them so I do know what's it all about. It is really weird to me that in this world full of hate, wars, and invented "reasons" to hate anyone or anything, in this short life we all have, someone found the "need" (sorry for too many quotes, I have to show that I do not agree with these) to downgrade our hard-built civilization which was upgraded for centuries with all the hardship, for God-knows which reasons. Now, why do I think this whole idea is wrong? I don't know much about this red-pill movement except for bits I've seen and I have no desire to see more, for my own mental health protection, but from what I've seen, which was enough, I can tell you as a woman few reasons from many of why they are wrong. F...

Creating hate using media and social networks

As someone well over age 50 I learned that it's much easier to attract attention with hate than with love, it's much easier for people to hate or to feel rage than to even try to understand. A lot of people see everything as they are told to see, by media, or internet, or whatever, evil versus good. Nothing in between! Just bad-good, no grey areas. And everything is a shade of grey (nothing to do the famous franchise), there are very little things, events, attitudes, opinions, people, points of view etc that are quite close to 100% evil or 100% good, but none of it is completely there. Sad thing is, although feeling love, gratefulness, being kind and understanding DOES indeed makes us feel better, it is easier to feel rage, hate, anger, mistrust, and refusing to understand, even though all that, on the long run, makes us feel miserable. It's too easy to watch the news and believe one whole nation is just bad, bad people, who should be wiped out, just because, well, people o...

I am so tired

We live in supposedly the easiest times. People used to live much shorter, harder lives, they used to work 10, 12 or even more hours of hard work every day. They would have like 10 children and only 3 would survive to the age of 10 or more. The life was rough. Yet, today, we are likely more tired than ever. Most of us works in offices, or even from home, most jobs aren't that hard, wars are burning as they always do but hidden from a lot of us who can see only what media allows us to see. We watch other people's "perfect lives" on internet, we see too many almost perfect looking people or just perfect looking every single day, people with no apparent flaws in life or body or face, we know way too much but still not enough, we want to be liked by total strangers and we do not know what is real anymore. We can't create because we want audience to approve our work, we can't be ourselves because we want to be perfect too, want to be liked, want to live life that i...

Everyone is ugly. Or is it just Marketing to sell us something?

When we are young, some of us have good genes and have beautiful face and body. That's like minority who fits into beauty standard and beauty standard is forever and for everyone and it's very important. That means you have to be whatever media tells you that is currently beautiful. That can change in time but the point is always similar. Youthful face shaped like upside down triangle, big eyes, tiny perfect nose, plump lips, perfect skin, big hair, slim body but nicely curvy where it should be. For men it's to be tall, muscular, square jaw. "hunter eyes" (whatever that means), nice big white teeth etc. That's beautiful, that's important and that's the goal, right? Old is ugly, small eyes are ugly, bulky or bumpy nose is ugly, small mouth is ugly, square face is ugly, any body but slim is ugly. Right? Wrong! You know what, all that is crap! That's all what we have been taught to believe and think and it's implanted into our brains over tv, medi...

Perfect beauty

Someone once said we were not meant to see so many faces of people as we see during last couple of decades. Thanks to social media, we are all exposed to way too many people and faces and bodies and way too exposed to seeing our own. It's probably not natural (for mental health) to see yourself every day, multiple times on social media, photos, selfies, and let your looks and you as a person be validated by strangers, by number of likes, by current beauty standards, by comparing yourself to thousands and thousands of faces and bodies you can see on hundreds of cable channels and even more social media networks, especially Instagram and TikTok. Being woman can be really tough. Constantly being bombarded by "theories" how your worth as a person depends on your looks, age and looking expensive, and even by your acting as a person. There are multiple channels where you are taught to behave like a princess, or queen, and how to treat people, and how to treat men, and how to b...
