Social media can be the devil. I admit I enjoy Youtube a lot, there are lots of very enjoyable channels, with quality information, or fun and comedy, or just plain enjoyable. Then, there are the other ones. I really can't tell why I keep getting those on my recommended list because I don't like them, I don't search for them, and I usually mark them as "not interested". Anti-women videos. I took a peak at few of them and it made me sad and angry at the same time. Why people always invent reasons to hate groups of people based on various things? There are hate videos on certain nationalities, races, religions, sexual orientations, whatever you can imagine evil human mind can think of. And of course, there are videos directed at women. Lets be real, I do not condone any type of hate based on gender, nationality, race, traditions, sexual orientation, or whatever type of criteria evil human mind can invent. These people are kind of quite similar looking to me but we are probably not related in any way, at least not that I know of: Yugoslavian actor Slavko Stimac - there must be some common relatives between us. Same country, different surnames but we really look alike (he is older than me though) Actresses Sela Ward and Sandra Bullock: it's not obvious at first glance, and I know both are beauties but there are similarities:

We live in supposedly the easiest times. People used to live much shorter, harder lives, they used to work 10, 12 or even more hours of hard work every day. They would have like 10 children and only 3 would survive to the age of 10 or more. The life was rough. Yet, today, we are likely more tired than ever. Most of us works in offices, or even from home, most jobs aren't that hard, wars are burning as they always do but hidden from a lot of us who can see only what media allows us to see. We watch other people's "perfect lives" on internet, we see too many almost perfect looking people or just perfect looking every single day, people with no apparent flaws in life or body or face, we know way too much but still not enough, we want to be liked by total strangers and we do not know what is real anymore.  My Grandmother and me, aproximately the same age. Sure, her photo was created maybe in 1960s or 1970s so it's really bad quality and it was colored (badly) after. But I am amazed how genetics work, you can clearly see we are related. Except her eyes were blue, mine are black... as my soul (sorry, couldn't help it! 😊) Interestingly enough, I saw some really blurred photo of her in her 20s, that must have been taken around 1950 I think, or even at the end of 1940 and I did not look like that in my 20s. But here, as we aged and lost baby fat in face, some things look eaeily similar. Btw my kid looks almost nothing like me. But well, someone else can have stronger genetics than mine.

When we are young, some of us have good genes and have beautiful face and body. That's like minority who fits into beauty standard and beauty standard is forever and for everyone and it's very important. That means you have to be whatever media tells you that is currently beautiful. That can change in time but the point is always similar. Youthful face shaped like upside down triangle, big eyes, tiny perfect nose, plump lips, perfect skin, big hair, slim body but nicely curvy where it should be. For men it's to be tall, muscular, square jaw. "hunter eyes" (whatever that means), nice big white teeth etc. That's beautiful, that's important and that's the goal, right? Old is ugly, small eyes are ugly, bulky or bumpy nose is ugly, small mouth is ugly, square face is ugly, any body but slim is ugly. Right? Wrong! You know what, all that is crap! That's all what we have been taught to believe and think and it's implanted into our brains over tv, medi...

This is my novel, so far the only one I put on the Amazon. The reason for that is that I am not that good in English and I had no money for professional translator so I did translation myself. It's not the best but I did gave my best. It's very difficult to write in language that's not your native, but I hope the point is the most important. The novel is technically sf/horror/thriller but the point is adapting to completely new, harder lifestyle which can happen to all of us. finding something beautiful in new world that we don't know and we are not used to. The world that's not forgiving, not comfortable, does not allow mistakes. That is not set perfectly for you. That can be any situation in your life. We have no idea what will happen to us tomorrow, in a year, two, ten.. Finding your place is important. Finding purpose, beauty in anything. So, I have been talking with my bank cosultant when I noticed it on the floor. A giant bug! Black with anthenes on its head and kind of segmented body. It looked huge and scary. Of course I made a sound and scared the lady from the bank on phone, and while talking I decided that I get the bug into box and let it out the window. Such huge thing has to fly, especially since it got in on fourth floor somehow (unless I brought it in on myself which is something I don't want to think about). So I get it under box and put it outside on window sill, pretty sure it will fly away. It didn't. I noticed that bug was sitting there panicking, tryng to get down thwn the sill and then getting scared and going back. No one expects to see the giant bug panicking. But there it was. So I felt sorry for the damn thing and trapped it again under plastic box with holes and brought it outside in the hall of the building. I mean, it can go downstairs, right?  This is not religious text in any way. It's more ecological and emotional. I am a cat person, I like cats, I help them whenever I can. I respect nature and animals in general, but I can't say I am consistent and I am not a hypocrite, because I am. I am not vegan, not even vegetarian, I wear leather (mostly boots and belt I have for decades now), I am as bad as anyone else. I am trying to excuse myself that I am too small, non important, nobody, I can't make any difference whatever I do. And that's probably true. but it still gets me a lot. A day ago, a little male kitty, maybe 6 months old, the only one from a litter of three kittens that survived, was found dead, run over by car. There are a lot of videos and essays laughing at alpha males, their roaring and yelling at camera and their... acolytes? students? whatever. They flash their muscles, their big expensive cars, they surround themselves with young (often, very young) women, they wear a lot of jewelery, and they like to show us how better they are than anyone else. They get up at 4am, they run or workout, lift heavy weights, drink only bottled water and eat expensive organic food. People still laugh at them, I mean people who are not obsessed with them, which are most likely very young, impressionable men. Then, there are influencers who like to show us how their life is basically clean and perfect. We saw too many videos about that too.  Fran Drescher was born in September 1957, and she is mostly known for her comedic role and specific voice. Fran made three of her own series (at least, three that I know of, so sorry if I am mistaken) and I watched them all from start to finish multiple times. So, I will list them here from best to worst, with some amateur reviews. 1. The best : The Nanny (1993 - 1999) The idea of cute, street-smart girl, who starts working as a nanny in rich family was pretty good from the start. The seies are also beautiful to look at. Fran is always dressed to the nines and she carries the amazing clothes better than any super model could. One of the best things about these series is chemistry between actors, which is also what's missing from other two series (hense, why they ultimately failed). The chemistry between Fran Drescher and Charles Shaughnessy is amazing, and although their characters in the show are both far from being perfect people, you can not help but to root for them.  As generation X, my youth was mostly during 80s and 90s of 20th century. Growing up during 80s and 90s was vastly different than growing up during 2000s or 2010s or now. Here are some nice perks of growing up before 21st centiry: We didn't know too much This may sound silly, but hear me out. Sure, to get some information you need it took time, books, magazines, asking around.. you couldn't just google "how to fix blender" or "Javascript tutorial" or whatever, you needed to work for it. A lot. Even for minor things, like how to saw something, or how to clean stain or how to prepare pasta. It took effort. If you skipped classes you had to put effort to go to public librabry, get books you need and do hours and hours of research not just google the freaking thing! One old lady had a black cat in my building. The lady was over 80, and she didn't spay the cat because she coudln't afford it. So when the lady died, they kicked the cat out. The little cat, then maybe 1 year old, managed in the streets, she had kittens several times, I am not sure any of them survived, as they usually don't. Then, in summer 2022 she gave birth to 4 black female kittens who all survived and I really liked them and helped their mom to take care of them. One was quite feisty and I made a mistake of trying to carry her, mistaking her for her sisters who were more cuddly, and she would try to fight me. I mean, this little tiny ball of fur trying to fight me, over 120lbs monster. I would let her go, of course, because she has the right of  not liking to be carried. They were kind of miracle kittens because they all survived which rarely ever happens in this part of town.  Since I kind of reached an age of reason, I wanted to have female friends, mythical girlfriends, mythical, powerful female friendship that so many movies, tv series, medias, and now social media on internet talks about. I never had one. Never. Never had a female friend. I watched movies and tv shows about strong women in great friendships that made each other lives richer, fuller, better, that would do anything one for another. But I've never lived anything even close to that. I had some male friends, but there was always a wall between us, sometimes smaller, sometimes big wall, wall between two people desperately trying not to cross any boundaries.  Someone once said we were not meant to see so many faces of people as we see during last couple of decades. Thanks to social media, we are all exposed to way too many people and faces and bodies and way too exposed to seeing our own. It's probably not natural (for mental health) to see yourself every day, multiple times on social media, photos, selfies, and let your looks and you as a person be validated by strangers, by number of likes, by current beauty standards, by comparing yourself to thousands and thousands of faces and bodies you can see on hundreds of cable channels and even more social media networks, especially Instagram and TikTok. Being woman can be really tough. Constantly being bombarded by "theories" how your worth as a person depends on your looks, age and looking expensive, and even by your acting as a person.  I am gen X, so I am old hehe, and I am not a tech or sociology export, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I might be wrong about this, but this is my blog so I can write my opinions and who wants to read it is (literally) free to read it. From my perspective, the best concept of AI use would be to do jobs people can not do, or jobs that carry high risk of death or injuries and could be better maintained by machines. That would include also jobs that are boring, repetetive, in bad conditions, in toxis or dangerous environment, or jobs that require too much precision that human can achieve. And instead, what does AI do now? Literally STEALS artwork from people online and uses it so that someone who does not want to pay for art, illustration, poster, essay, even music or music video etc can use other people's life work stollen by AI and get it for themselves!
