How my cap (and me being always cold) saved me from being mugged

When you walk down the streets in the middle of the day, sunshine, broad streets, you are walking fast and confident, the last thing you expect is that you can get mugged. Well, you would be wrong. I was walking, as I mentioned, middle of the day, 1 pm, sun blasting, middle of town, no crowds... sounds safe? No. One advice: do NOT, ever, wear backpack with zipper on your back, casually, or even a bag that is easy to open, and walk thinking nothing can happen. It can. Be aware 100% always. Once, years ago, someone snatched pretty expensive face serum directly from my bag, in the center of town, again broad daylight, people all around, and apparently, I learned nothing. I was lucky it was just that serum. But how did my cap (plain, acrylic, see photo bellow) saved me?

Well, I was walking with backpack casually over my shoulder when I felt backpack moving. I turned around and there they were, two kids, maybe 13-14 or 15 years old, boy and a girl, directly behind me, with hands on my backpack, zipper opened. I was still stunned by the audacity so I said "are you trying to rob me?". The girl started to argue, but the boy, who was smarter, dragged her away pretty fast, and I panicked and checked inside my backpack. I usually carry wallet, phone, glasses but I do pack my Id and credit card (though I don't usually carry it) separately.

The morning I got out was a bit chilly but no one except me would wear a cap, well, I did, and when I was going back it got sunnier so I stashed my big, black cap in my backpack over all other things covering them. If that cap wasn't on the top, covering wallet, phone, all... I would be mugged by two children, easily! It was a lesson. Do not trust even daylight, even in town, even with people around (trust me, no one cares!), do not carry ANYTHING just hanging on your back! If there wasn't my trusty cap covering everything else in my bag, I would be in serious trouble.

Repeat after me: never ever carry anything of value exposed in any way. People are sneaky. You can get robbed anywhere.

The hero of the day (not me, the cap):

Sicily, second time, Taormina, Giardini Naxos

So, I have been to Italy this Summer, like I've been in 2023. I've found a little non-expensive hotel on the beach, kind of fair walk far from the center of the town but still the best I could find. I like Sicily. It's lovely, a bit scorched, hot and crowded in August but still nice. Lots of art in Taormina, not just paintings, sculptures, architecture, but also food... that food! How are Italians such slim people I can not understand. All they eat is pasta, cakes, cookies, pastries... And this time, I got giant deluxe room on the top of the hotel mansion, because there were no ordinary rooms left! You gotta love such exchange! Top floor, look at the Sicily from above and giant tv, all channels in Italian, but well... I didn't complain. Lots of pasta, lots of cakes, some gelato, some sunburns while hiking under sun and once got lost looking for Communal garden, in the sun, on high heels. Even the airport wasn't bad experience, crowded but not too crowded, nice coff...

Bye bye little baby

Bye bye little baby, I cared, I am sorry I didn't help you in time.

My experience with ChatGPT so far

So, I started using ChatGPT. At first, some google AI named Gemini literally self-installed on my Android, and I tested it but it didn't really make me interested so I removed it. It looked too much like a plain Google search. It was like, you ask a question, Gemini does a google search instead of you and that's about it. Sometimes, though, answers were useful but nothing that a good search engine can't do. After some time, led by curiosity, I installed ChatGPT to check it out. Now, let me state that I am pretty anxious person, so my questions for AI tend to look like a string of hypochondriac's bursts out. A lot of my questions are health related, but there are also the other ones, more practical, like general information seeking, even advice on social connections and communications. I was pretty surprised by the results. The damn thing really tries to give you proper answers. I am not saying the answers are 100% right because I don't know that (that's why I am...
